Lisa Namie and Steve Landwehr from Fleming Architects will give a presentation Centennial Place Dorms at the University of Memphis Dorms with a focus on Insulated Concrete Forms
The University of Memphis recruited the help of Fleming Architects to design a much needed Residence Hall that would replace the outdated Richardson Towers dormitory. Fleming was asked to design a new five story, 804 bed student housing building, which included living and learning suites as well as apartment style units. Additionally, the new Residence Hall includes classrooms, multipurpose and study spaces for students, and new kitchen and laundry facilities.
This building was designed and constructed using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) which is a system of interlocking modular units that are locked together somewhat like Lego bricks and then filled with concrete to create the structural walls.
