Building Information Modeling and Beyond for the AEC Industry

This course will briefly review the history of BIM from its origins out of manufacturing, to the adoption into the AEC industry. We will also explore the advantages and benefits of using BIM vs traditional CAD design, and then look at ways to better leverage the information obtained from a digital model for LEED certification and Green Build design. In closing, industry experts will share their experiences with BIM and how they leverage the information obtained from digital models to improve design, communication, and performance.

Floor Slab Moisture Problem Resolutions

This course will address moisture control methods in the building construction industry.

Led by Mr.Fowler Low with Barrier-Bac. Fowler Low is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Engineering. He has 25 years experience in the building materials industry with a focus on structural concrete, waterproofing, and moisture vapor barrier applications. His background covers all ranges of construction from the Engineering Design Stage to Product Manufacturing to Proper Installation of products to help control moisture in buildings.
